The Gastronomical Maddie

An outlet for my obsession with what good food does. The way food can change your mood, bring people together, teach you a lesson and open your eyes. Food shouldn't just be an object it should be an experience.

About Me

My photo
Maddie
Seattle
Ever since I can remember I have always loved cooking. My mother and I in the kitchen chopping vegetables, later this involved wine and telling stories, reminiscing on memories past. Not only do I love cooking delicious meals, I love eating them. It’s not only the fact the food tastes delicious (even though that is a huge part) but the process of dining. Sitting down, with friends or family, and taking the time to talk and listen to those who you love and create memories. So often in this fast passed life we eat in the car, through a working lunch or eating pizza out of the box while entranced in the current reality show on the tube. What a waste of an opportunity. After reading An Extravagant Hunger: The Passionate Years of M.F.K. Fisher, I was entranced by her attention to how food made her feel, the smell, the texture, the temperature. She was the first successful female food writer. This blog is an ode to MFK Fisher, hopefully I can evoke a passion for cooking, eating and living in each one of you!
